The Maps from earlier periods provide a lot
of information about Kelloggville and later Talcottville. This first clip
is from a map of Vernon in 1853.

| This 1859 map below was after the tansfer of the
mill and town ownership to the Talcotts but before the name was changed.
We have seen the 1856 deed for the transaction from Kelloggs's estate to
C.D.T. and H.W.T., and it was for $8,000. (!!) |

This next map was drawn in 1869, a little later,
and the Talcottville name is seen, as well as the familiar houses in the
villiage. Note the two 1865 Talcott houses, the "Cong Ch Store Office
& PO", built in 1866, and the train station .
You can read the names of private residents on homes in the area, but the
mill workers' houses all are marked in brackets as company owned. |
